School Meals

We are delighted to announce our own in house catering service to provide healthy meals for all our children.

Our mission is to improve the health of our children through better eating habits and food education, inspiring the next generation into good lifelong eating habits.

Lunchtimes are an important part of the school day.  Healthy, nutritious, balanced school lunches can lead to better health and a better academic performance. All meals will be made from scratch. Going forward the Trust will be working towards becoming a Food for Life School.  This will entail using quality produce including Red Tractor meats, free range eggs and local produce.

We are able to give the children a choice of hot meals every day with a meat option and vegetarian option. For dessert, the children have the choice of a pudding or fresh fruit.

If your child has any allergy and/or intolerance please contact us and we will work with you to make sure we meet their needs.

Children in Years R, 1 and 2 are entitled to a free school meal each day.

Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 can have a choice of hot meal each day for £2.60.

Free school meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 automatically get free school meals.  From Year 3 onwards, children whose parents are in receipt of any of the benefits below are entitled to free school meals.

All parents and guardians are encouraged to apply for free school meals when they enrol their child in school as this can help their child’s school to attract additional ‘pupil premium’ funding to support learning.  Please ensure that you register as this attracts additional money to our school which can have a great impact on the children’s learning. You may also qualify for help with costs towards school trips etc. If you do not register we do not get the extra funding in school.

If you receive any of the following benefits please register and apply via the Devon County Council Citizen Portal which will result in an instant decision.  If your application is successful please bring proof to the school office such as a screenshot or print out of the result. If you have any questions please contact the school office.
