Making learning fun

Happy Individuals

From EYFS to Key Stage 2

SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS – HAPPY INDIVIDUALS

We offer an inclusive curriculum to ensure that each child’s learning experience offers maximum opportunities for excellence, enjoyment, personal development, respect for self and others.

Children across all of our year groups receive a broad and balanced curriculum that is designed to be fun, engaging and stimulating, and will help them acquire knowledge and skills to be the best they can be. Our aim is for children to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens to enable them to make a positive and economic contribution to society.

Children’s achievements are celebrated and everyone enjoys success and praise regularly during their time in school. We encourage children to become independent and confident in both their work and social development.

Equality & Diversity Statement:

At Lifton Community Academy, we embrace diversity by ensuring all pupils develop an understanding and appreciation of cultures and beliefs different to their own.  We aim:

  1. To teach a curriculum which considers diversity in our history and to promote awareness, understanding and respect for diversity in our world.
  2. To teach a creative curriculum that is broad and balanced that supports the mental health of our pupils and their awareness of others’ needs.
  3. To help children understand themselves and build positive relationships without prejudice.
  4. To ensure that staff and the governing body are aware of current legislation surrounding equality and diversity and understand the school’s responsibility.

This is achieved through celebration of special days and festivals, an engagement with awareness-raising events such as Black History Month, E-Safety day and Anti-Bullying week and the embedding of lessons learned through the achievements of individuals from diverse backgrounds across disciplines and through history.
